I always wondered why my neighbors (being jdubs) were all on some kind of depression meds. Isn't knowing the truth suppose to make you joyful and satisfied that your doing the right thing? Go figure.

Thats true. It was like pulling teeth to force my kids to go. My wife was not too keen on going either although she never begrudged me. The kids would see that my wife would not go to all the meetings and they soon found excuses to stay home with her. Boy they are smarter than I gave them credit. lol. As far as service. well that was something I just could not make myself do. Hence I was considered spiritually week. Even after I stopped attending I would get call from the elders to ask for my time. I have to admit I would lie and tell them one hour so that I would remain "active". Eventually they stopped calling.

You guys are really great! I have never felt such encouraging and supportive comments in a long time. The more I come here, the more I feel like I am doing the right thing. Like a huge weight being lifted off my chest. My job is stressfull enough. My childrens schooling is stressful enough on them that they should'nt be forced to go additional 5 hours on something that is repetitive and more and more bogus as I am beginning to learn. I know I don't personally know any of you but for the encouragement and knowledge, I thank you! And for your experiences. I hope I can be of encouragement to others as you have to me. Thanks everyone. I have been praying, but now when I pray I pray to God. I don't use the name "Jehovah" any more. However I was so use to it that its hard. I have read some info that says Jesus deserves our worship. So I have been praying to him. I have to admit it is alittle uncomfortable. Also I think that I have been reading the bible more than ever. Since I have been only given info from the wtbts its hard to deprogram myself when I read certain scriptures. Know what I mean?

Ok. I'm almost finished with C.C. Really good published evidence against the gb. Now what? I don't think I will become an atheist as many have but where do I go now. How and what do I teach my children? I am so confused, I am losing hope of ever finding the "truth". There are so many teachings and experiences of others on this site. Are all our beliefs like the "wheel with many spokes leading to the middle" as the "society" said we are not? Appreciate your response..

If God did have a new system..would you want to be there?

i was a witness for over forty years and for most of that time the "new world" "paradise" was not a place i ever wanted to live in.. there are many aspects of life in the 21st century that are great and i wouldn't want to give up.

tv, internet, blues/jazz clubs etc etc.. i may be shallow.

but there were other better reasons millions of people would have gone, wiped out by god: this never sat easy with me.. i told my elder father that i wouldn't want to live five minutes in god's new system, knowing that people i loved, had been killed by god because they didn't love him in the way he wanted.. just telling my father that has made me really wake up to how i really feel about my ex religion.. does a paradise earth as jw's depict appeal to you?

Based on what "they" say, I won't remember the former things. In short you bet. I just don't believe you have to earn your way there with "service time.
